1.1. By inputting your username and password to access the Site you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions of use ("the Terms of Use") and that you have read them.
1.2. If you do not agree with any part of the Terms of Use you must cease use of the Site immediately.
2.1. The Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and CIE. The Terms of Use can only be modified with CIE's prior written consent. CIE reserves the right to change the Terms of Use at its discretion by changing them on the Site.
2.2. You may print and keep a copy of these Terms of Use.
2.3. Where you are using the Site as part of your duties of employment, you confirm that you are authorised to agree to these Terms of Use on behalf of your employer.
2.4. As a registered user ("User") you may access the Site only by using the password and username provided.
2.5. You agree to follow any guidance or instruction provided in support of the Site which includes any on-line help or telephone support. Failure to follow our guidance will mean that you shall not hold CIE liable for any damage caused by misuse of the Site.
3.1. The Site and material available on the Site is provided for general information purposes only and is not intended to provide comprehensive information or guidance on the information covered. However, CIE will use its reasonable endeavours to ensure that all information on the Site is accurate.
3.2. Any reliance on any information or other material contained on the Site is entirely at your own risk.
3.3. All other warranties, undertakings, conditions and terms, express or implied, including, without limitation, as to quality, fitness for purpose, performance or suitability for purpose, whether by common law, statute, custom, trade usage, course of dealings or otherwise, in respect of the Site are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
3.4. Nothing in these Terms of Use shall exclude our liability to you for fraudulent misrepresentation by CIE or its employees or for death or personal injury resulting from CIE's negligence or that of its employees.
3.5. Subject to the above, you acknowledge that our liability to you for direct loss under, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site for any one incident or series of incidents shall be limited to the lesser of £1000 (one thousand pounds sterling) or the amount paid by your organisation to CIE within the preceding 12 months.
3.6. We shall not under any circumstances be liable to you under or in connection with your use of the Site for any indirect, economic or consequential loss whatsoever including, without limitation, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill or reputation, loss of use, any professional charges, or any deletion, corruption, destruction, loss or removal of data.
3.7. Owing to the nature of the internet you acknowledge that we cannot guarantee that the Site will always be available to you. In addition, you acknowledge that the Site may be unavailable owing to maintenance.
3.8. Where possible we will try to carry out the Site maintenance outside core operating hours, and we will try to minimise the period of any disruption.
3.9. CIE will not be liable for any circumstances beyond our control that affect the availability or reliability of the Site.
3.10. Before entering into any contract based on or relating to information on this Site, you should obtain full information from the organisation or individual with whom you are establishing the contract; CIE is not responsible for information provided by any third party in relation to any such contract.
4.1. All personal details you supply to CIE through the Site must be accurate and you shall let CIE know promptly if any of the details which you have supplied about you change.
4.2. The user account may only be used by the person to which it was issued and you must not share your username and password.
4.3. You must keep your username and password for use on the Site confidential, and you are responsible for any loss or damage to CIE or any third party resulting from use of your username and password by any third party.
4.4. CIE reserves the right to terminate your access to the Site should it consider that your use of the Site is detrimental to CIE, the Site, to other users or for any other reason including, but not exclusively, if you breach the Terms of Use.
4.5. By accessing any part of the Site you agree:
4.5.1 not to use the Site in such a way that disrupts, interferes with or restricts the use of the Site by other third party users;
4.5.2 to ensure that any materials uploaded, displayed or transmitted by you through or to the Site are not false, offensive, defamatory, threatening, obscene, unlawful and do not breach or infringe the rights of any person anywhere in the world and you waive any moral rights in respect of any such materials;
4.5.3 to only post materials to which you have the rights to post;
4.5.4 not to reverse engineer, decompile, copy or adapt any software or other code or scripts forming part of the Site nor attempt to transmit to or via the Site any information that contains a virus, worm, trojan horse, or other harmful or disruptive component;
4.5.5 not to send spam email or any unsolicited correspondence which is unrelated to the business of CIE to any addresses made available on the Site; and,
4.5.6 not to change, modify, delete, interfere with or misuse data contained on the Site entered by or relating to any third party user of the Site.
4.6. If CIE suffers loss owing to a breach by you of these Terms of Use, you agree to indemnify it for any such loss
4.7. It is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that you have appropriate protection against computer viruses, worms, trojan horses or other items of a destructive nature whilst using the internet, and that your connection to the Site is secure.
5.1. The Site may include hypertext links to third party web Sites; CIE accepts no responsibility for and can give no warranties, guarantees or representations in respect of, the content or availability of material of any third party Site.
5.2. You shall not create any hypertext link to the Site or any part of it from outside of the Site or otherwise, without prior written agreement from CIE.
5.3. Any opinions expressed on message boards or in email groups forming part of the Site now or at any time in the future are not necessarily those of Cambridge Assessment. We reserve the right to edit or delete any postings to message boards at our sole discretion, but do not accept or purport to have any obligation to monitor or amend the content of such message boards.
6.1. The copyright and other intellectual property in material contained in the Site, including without limitation in text, images, scripts and sounds, is owned by CIE except where otherwise stated.
6.2. You may print extracts from the Site or any of its pages for your personal use or to assist in preparing students at a school for an examination provided by CIE, but not for any other purpose.
6.3. You may make a temporary copy of these pages for the purposes of viewing the pages with browser software, but must not otherwise copy, reproduce or re-distribute the contents of these pages in whole or in part without the prior written consent of CIE.
6.4. Cambridge is a registered trade mark of the University of Cambridge in the UK and in other countries as are the logos and names of Cambridge Assessment, University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), University of Cambridge International Examinations, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and IGCSE.
6.5. All other rights are reserved.
7.1. By registering to access secure areas on this Site, you consent to us processing your personal data in accordance with our Data Protection and Privacy Statement.
8.1. In some areas of the Site there may be the ability for registered users to post information.
8.2. By posting information to the Site you agree to CIE's terms with respect to posted material as contained in this Clause 7.
8.3. You give CIE an unconditional, perpetual licence in the material that you post to copy, modify, redistribute or otherwise use without any further consideration being due to you rather than being published and without attribution.
8.4. You hereby waive all moral rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 which you may have in respect of the material that you post.
8.5. You hereby warrant that you own or are licensed to use and to sub-licence to CIE all intellectual property rights in the materials and indemnify CIE against any legal action, expenses or damages that may result from your posting the material.
8.6. You shall ensure that the material you post is not defamatory and does not infringe any UK laws and that you have the consent of anyone who is identifiable in material or the consent of their parent or guardian if they are under 16.
8.7. CIE may terminate your ability to post material or your account should any material you post not in its sole opinion be suitable for posting on a Site of this nature and with its user base.
9.1. In the case of any conflict between these Terms of Use and any other written agreement which you have with CIE, the latter shall prevail.

11.2. The language of these Terms is English, if they are translated into any other language, the English language text shall prevail.
